1. Who we are
The Menu Guys is operated by Bajada Consulting, which is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed. Contact us at hello@themenugys.com.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data — name, email address and login credentials, used to create and secure your account (legal basis: performance of a contract).
- Business and menu content — restaurant name, menu items, prices, ingredient and supplier costs, recipes, and images you upload, used to provide the Service such as menu generation, costing and profitability analysis (legal basis: performance of a contract).
- Support messages — when you contact us, to respond and help you (legal basis: legitimate interests).
- Usage and technical data — product usage/telemetry, device identifiers and IP address, used for security, fraud prevention and product improvement (legal basis: legitimate interests).
Payment details are collected and processed by our payment provider, Stripe, when you make a purchase; we never see or store your card details.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics and AI-processing providers that help us operate the Service, under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Payment provider (Stripe) — for payment processing, subscription management, tax calculation and invoicing.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where required by law.
4. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes above — generally for the life of your account plus any period required for legal, tax or accounting obligations — after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Complain to a supervisory authority (in Malta, the IDPC).
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@themenugys.com. We respond within one month.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls limiting who can access personal data.
8. Cookies
